Wastewater Winter Averaging Period Happening Now

During the months of December, January, and February, the WTCPUA averages wastewater usage to set the wastewater rate for the rest of the year. Wastewater averaging is done during the winter months, since that is when people use the least amount of water in the year. We average the amount of water you use over those three months to get you the best possible rate. So for instance, if you use 4,000 gallons in December, 4,000 gallons in January and 5,000 gallons in February, your average would be 4,300 gallons.

Reduce outdoor irrigation during these months to get best rates for the whole year. Your rate is fixed for the whole year based on this averaging period, so even if your usage of wastewater goes up later in the year your rate stays fixed. Wastewater is anything that goes down your drain and it requires treatment to keeps our rivers and lakes clean.

Conserve now and save all year!
